Growing company in South Phoenix is adding a Revenue Accountant to their staff. The Revenue Accountant completes the revenue accounting activities and tasks required to process test taker registrations and revenue recognition using established practices and methods. The Revenue Accountant reviews sales revenue information for accuracy and completeness and performs correct revenue recognition procedures. The Revenue Accountant completes month end closings and reconciliations and is familiar with the ERP, e-commerce and customer management systems and tools. The Revenue Accountant is independent and collaborative in nature and often plays a key role in process improvement projects.
Base Salary up to $110K and hybrid schedule with two days in office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead revenue accounting close procedures: establish and follow controls, prepare
- Execute day-to-day revenue accounting operation to ensure smooth functioning
- Partner closely with customer success team to provide revenue guidance for contract structuring, ensure application of ASC 606 and financial objectives are met
- Review customer contracts to ensure contracts are recorded and accounted for accurately
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build accounting processes that supports existing and any business expansion initiatives
- Play a key role in periodic audit process
- Play a key role in the Team’s internal, continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the revenue and accounting functions
- Work towards becoming the subject matter expert on revenue and ASC 606
- Tax and regulatory reporting and filings may be required to assist, and/or review
- Provide financial and operational expertise and insights to organization through data management & technological integrations
- Identity key business drivers and relevant metrics for performance
- Reporting on financial performance and preparing reporting for regular leadership reviews
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA certification is a plus
Qualifications
- 3-7+ years in finance and accounting, with a strong background in revenue accounting
- CPA and Big 4 Public Accounting experience are a plus
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606
- Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt and change
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook and SharePoint
- Experience with Sage 300 or other similar integrated accounting software a plus
- Well organized, proactive, must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment
- Excellent understanding of English, both written and verbal required; ability to communicate in a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous manner with employees, clients, vendors, business contacts
- Ability to maintain open, direct, positive, and objective lines of communication with management
