Accounting Manager

Scottsdale Real Estate company is adding an Accounting Manager to their staff
This is a hybrid role.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the audits of the consolidated entities and providing leadership and oversight of the accounting function for the various departments and divisions, including internal and external reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls. This position also ensures all accounting tasks follow financial regulations and reporting requirements to keep the company in compliance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Prepare the consolidated financial statements for 66 entities.
  • Maintain working papers and processes to support the financial statements.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits while maintaining working relationships with the external auditors.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close procedures.
  • Develop, document, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Collaborate and provide financial accounting guidance to other groups in Finance, Accounting, and throughout the organization as needed.
  • Review new accounting pronouncements and implement new accounting policies as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and financial performance.
  • Assist Senior F&A team with corporate financial decisions and various projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance required. Master’s degree in accounting or finance, a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive and related experience in Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting (US GAAP).
  • Big 4 Accounting and/or real estate experience preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting systems and strong technical knowledge of US GAAP.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to create and integrate data into a cohesive analysis and provide business-driving recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required and proficiency in Microsoft Office suites.
  • Understanding of standard accounting software; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
