  • Respond to tax notices, inquiries, and examinations from federal and state taxing authorities.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors on tax-related matters.

  • Research complex tax issues and provide technical guidance and analysis to management.

  • Provide tax-related financial information and support for internal reporting and external requirements.

  • Identify and implement improvements to tax processes, internal controls, reporting, and compliance procedures.

  • Support additional tax areas as needed, including sales and use tax, property tax, payroll tax, and tax incentives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

  • 7+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, preferably within a public company environment.

  • Big Four public accounting background strongly preferred, ideally at the Manager level or ready to make the transition into a corporate tax management role.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing, mentoring, and developing accounting or tax professionals.

  • Strong understanding of public-company reporting requirements, SOX controls, and current tax accounting guidance.

  • Ability to independently manage the quarterly and annual tax provision process.

  • CPA strongly preferred; Master's in Taxation is a plus.

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.

  • Experience in manufacturing, retail, insurance, or mortgage industries is a plus.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated, proactive professional with a hands-on, take-charge approach.
