Growing manufacturing company in Phoenix is actively recruiting for an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining portions of Company’s books and record in accordance with GAAP and accounting policies. He/she coaches, develops, and oversees a team of accountants and/or clerks.
Responsibilities:
· Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including AP, AR, and general accounting
· Manage, coach, and develop accounting staff
· Assist the Controller with the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
· Support external audit process to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
· Support management on analyses, workflow process improvements and ad hoc projects
· Maintains accounting controls by preparing, recommending, and following policies and procedures
· Ensure government compliance with all department tasks.
· Other duties as assigned
Background Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
· CPA required
· 5 - 10 years of progressive experience in accounting department or in a similar role, preferably with 2+ years in management, ideal candidate will have a mix of public accounting and industry in a publicly traded company.
· Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting
· Financial reporting experience
· Experience with ERP systems and financial accounting software (e.g., Blackline)
· Proven track record of successfully managing staff and developing accounting processes
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
· Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Advanced Excel – pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
