Senior Manager - Real Estate Counsel

$150,000 plus bonus
Hybrid remote in Santa Monica

Senior Manager, Real Estate Counsel position at a national real estate company. The role involves preparing, drafting, and negotiating commercial leases, purchase agreements, and various legal documents. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a commercial real estate attorney, a law degree, and be admitted to practice law.
Key responsibilities include managing documentation flow, researching rights and obligations, providing legal analysis, and ensuring accurate information in databases. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Duties to include:
  • Preparing, drafting, and negotiating commercial leases and ground leases, purchase and sale agreements, NDA’s, amendments to reciprocal easement agreements, brokerage agreements and ancillary agreements and review LOIs.
  • Researching and summarizing rights and obligations related to the above-described documents.
  • Reviewing and providing legal analysis of shopping center documents, including leases, operating agreements, reciprocal easement agreements and other contracts.
  • Managing the flow of all such documentation from inception to execution and distribution.
  • Ensuring information in Tracking Database is updated and accurate per standard procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a commercial real estate attorney, including new development projects, leasing, and transactional real estate matters.
  • Law degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law.
  • Must satisfy Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) requirements to maintain active license to practice law.
  • Experience in real estate transfer documentation and retail/commercial leasing required.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel.
